The main Evangelical church in Dortmund, dating back to the thirteenth century, was named in honour of the city’s patron saint, Reinold. Partially destroyed during the Second World War, the renovated church was re-consecrated in 1956. At that time the church bell, with a hole in it stemming from the war, was re-hung and has since served as an admonishment to peace.

Visitors can climb the bell tower on Saturdays between 12.00 and 15.00 to enjoy the expansive view of Dortmund.
