The Dortmund Airport connects the city with important German, European, and foreign centres. More than two million passengers per year use the modern, revitalised airport.

There is an hourly connection from the airport with the AirportExpress (additional charge) directly to the "Zentraler Omnibus Bahnhof" (opposite the main train station), which takes approximately 25 minutes. Additionally, one can use the bus and rail system (VRR rates apply) via Dortmund Aplerbeck, which takes approximately 45 minutes.
