The Volksgarten Mengede is an attractive park and a popular destination for trips out for the whole family. The farmers' market, sports club festivals and the holiday games are fixed events on the yearly programme in the Volksgarten Mengede. The catering, with a shaded beer garden, invites one to linger for a while and the boule ground is also much in use. A modern playground concept offers generously sized play niches for children of different ages. In the stadium, with running track and long-jump pit, many club and school competitions take place as well as football matches.
