Cultural history in fast motion, from prehistoric and ancient times to the 20th century – the museum has important collections of painting and sculpture from before 1900; of furniture, crafts and design up to the present; and of graphic art, photography, textiles, urban history, archaeology and the history of surveying. The collection begun in1883 includes valuable and rare objects along with the typical and commonplace. It’s possible to stroll through the centuries in just a few steps.
