The Football Museum is embedded in Dortmund's art and culture mile, which includes the Dortmunder

U, the Harenberg City Center, the RWE Tower, the Museum of Art and Cultural

History and the City and Regional Library.

The exhibition concept is experience-oriented.

The intention is not just to convey information but to inspire enthusiasm and

touch the hearts of those people for whom football is a part of their lives.

In the five exhibition

areas "Before the Match" (Emotional Preparation), "1st Half"

(The World of the National Teams and German Football), "Half-Time"

(Trainers and Tactics), "2nd Half" (The World of Association Football)

and "After the Match" (Match Zone), the visitor experiences all of the

many facets of football thanks to technically innovative, but also classic forms

of presentation. A multi-vision on the history of German football, the treasure

chamber with the most valuable cups of the national team and in club football and

a "Hall Of Fame" for the great German football personalities

represent further scenographic and emotional high points of the exhibition.

But the museum is not meant

to be just a place of preservation and exhibiting but also at the same time a

lively forum for encounters an discussion for all members of the football

family, for fans, clubs and associations, friends and patrons, partners and sponsors.

Events such as award ceremonies, press conferences, readings and TV productions

contribute to this in their own events area.
